tips/reminders to survive a breakup

- block them on every possible social media. cut them off from your life completely. no hesitation, no compromise. don't check upon them after doing so; trust me, the less you know about their lives without you the better you will feel.

- find a new hobby. do something you always wanted to do, and yes, by yourself. read a book, go on a trip, try a new cake recipe. anything that you want to do to be honest. nothing is holding you back now.

- allow yourself to feel things. it will hurt. a lot. and it's important to feel the pain. you don't need to get over them over night, and i don't think it's possible to 'get over' someone. let yourself feel the pain, don't drown yourself in it, and grow out of it.

- talk to your friends. surround yourself with people you love and love you. find someone trustworthy and supportive. talk to them. tell them how you feel. and catch up with their lives too.

- remember: there will be time that you miss them so much that your chest aches. and there will be time that you want them back for all costs. but also remember: you don't need them in your life and you leave them for a reason. don't torture yourself with thoughts of bringing them back. you don't want to live that dread again. you made your choice and it's a right one. leave them in your past and set it on fire.

- another reminder: yes, you will love again, and yes, next time love will treat you better.
